Support For Asana Sub-tasks

Pleexy should be able to search for sub-tasks assigned to users even if the master task is assigned to someone else.
Now Pleexy only finds subtasks if the whole hierarchy is assigned to the user.
Due to limitations of Asana API we may have to limit connections to sync YOUR tasks ONLY, vs "Assigned to Anyone", as we allow today.
Please let us know if that breaks your workflow, we would love to hear about your use-case.

Dear Pleexy team,
Please read the comments here post-"complete" as I don't think you caught what we are asking for. There's a reason that this exact request exists in multiple places, because it still hasn't been implemented in the way it's needed.

Chad Lawson: Hi Chad, sorry for the confusion. This post was for a separate feature request and the comments here were made before we released the update last year. Prior to that, Pleexy could not sync Asana subtasks at all if the parent task was assigned to someone else. In order implement full support for subtasks, we had to limit the connection to being able to sync only "Assigned to Me" tasks (due to API limitations) and so we gathered feedback from our users to ensure it doesn't break their experience. I've forwarded your other feature requests to the team for them to review if they're possible via the Asana API.

Denise Rebollido: Hi, Denise. Thanks for your reply. This somewhat helps.
The problem is that if I assign every subtask to me, they don't come down as subtasks to the main task, they become tasks on their own in Todoist which defeats the purpose.
I have another feature request that may help with this for everyone: I need an option to sync tasks that are, "Assigned to me or unassigned" which matches the shared project philosophy of and filters in Todoist already. And in shared Todoist projects, a task might be assigned to me, but one of the the subtasks assigned to someone else. And Todoist has amazing filter rules like, "assigned to: me | ! assigned to: others" which, while clunky to look at, are intuitive and gets me any task on which I might take action.
Since I'm not always the one assigning tasks in Asana, the project manager might (and does) just assign the parent task to me and then all I see is the task but not its subtasks.
And I have yet to see a way to get Pleexy to copy Asana subtasks as subtasks of Todoist tasks which is odd since both systems support it.
Based on what you've said here and in other related posts, I suspect the starting point is to add the "Assigned to me or unassigned" feature request I created. From there, the path should be clear.
Let me know if the developers would like more examples of what I mean. I do not have the headspace to be a real "developer" on a large project, but I can hack together some decent procedural code and/or show off hack attempts to do the same thing in something like Integromat or Zapier.
*Edit: yes. I did just come back weeks later to fix my horrible grammar.

Chad Lawson: Thanks, Chad, for the helpful feedback. I agree that this would definitely make things more efficient. We're thinking of implementing this when we update our Asana connector, however, I can't give any ETA just yet. As a small team, we're prioritizing requests based on votes but we'll let you know if we make any progress on this. In the meantime, will the current "Assigned to Anyone" mode work for you? In this mode, Pleexy will retain the hierarchy for subtasks when synced to Todoist. If it helps, you can add the {assignee} field in your task title template to see which tasks are assigned to you in Todoist.

Denise Rebollido: Hi, Denise. Thanks again for replying. Just knowing that a request like this is being heard and worked towards and not just hand-waved away is a big help on its own.
Your idea for adding the assignee to the task title might work in the short run. I'll try it later this week and see.

Denise Rebollido: Please re-read as multiple people are verifying that this is not complete. It misses the point.

it's very weird that Pleexy can't find sub-tasks assigned to user. because Asana don't work hierarchy task so every index just have relation columns only.

I need this feature please! Any update on progress?

Asana Sub-Tasks to Todoist

Micah Lee
Hey,
I'm trying to connect Asana to Todoist. When I set the integration up, it does a great job syncing over top-level tasks. However, tasks that are nested in Asana (so that I'm not assigned to the top-level item, but I
am
assigned to a nested tasks), those sub-tasks are not being found by the Pleezy search>Is this a gap in the integration, or is there an additional configuration required for this to work?
Thanks!

I have the same issue.
Trying to track through all of my assigned tasks through nested Asana items will help me out.
