This was another really curious omission. Lot of workflows archive stuff meaning review but still want to track action.

I practice Inbox Zero. Once I flag an item for followup in my Inbox, I move it to the Archive folder. I use custom search folders to identify the flagged items I need to follow up on.

If I'm running inbox zero and/or gtd, then the email must be archived because the task in on my todo list.
